Originally designed by Edmund Willians Architects, PRC were commissioned to move the project forward from the planning consent to construction.

The development is for a 62-bed care home operated by The Abbeyfield Society. The care home has been specially designed as a centre of excellence for dementia care.

The development is a unique plan form of intersecting circular wings, where the accommodation has been arranged as 6 clusters with an average of 10 residents per cluster. The clusters are circular in form with residents rooms accessed by a circular walk and each room on ground floor has patio door access to garden space, along with internal links to safe and secure inner courtyard gardens. The core principle of the design is for each cluster to create a sense of social belonging in a small group of communal living.
